Event Review – 29 Nov 2025
Once every Sun cycle or so there comes a day that brings pandemonium, causing the very earth to shift and primordial beasts to awaken from their sleep. These events are known as the Dawn of the Titans and the fourth of these occurrences has just transpired, as November neared its demise.
The initial sightings were reported around Bailey’s in Johannesburg and once the quaking subsided and the dust had settled, accounts came in of six gargantuan titans who were ripping up the landscape, causing uproar and mayhem.
I had received exclusive insight concerning the movements and whereabouts of these mammoths, and made it my mission to experience these entities with my own senses and report back to you, so that you may know what fantastical savagery lurks within the boundaries of your suburbs.
After the initial assault at Bailey’s, these anomalies changed course and started making their way towards Railways Cafe in Centurion. Myself, as well as other warriors, engineers, disciples, and scientists set out to meet these monsters on the battlefield and see if we could make them bleed.

These primal predators appeared one after the other, each progressively more preposterous and terrifying than what came before. Surdus took pole position to assault our senses with its symphonic spells of groove and death. It certainly got the war zone lit up sufficiently as bodies started burning.
Fading Gray was next to appear. A familiar force, but it seemed to have evolved since our last encounter.. It had spawned another guitarist and with this new weapon, it wrecked havoc on the psyche of all who heard its metallic chugging.
We barely had time to catch our breaths and take account of our losses, when Walk These Skies challenged us to elevate our energy and match its melodic metalcore madness. We manned our longships and embarked on a treacherous journey; our lungs filled with songs of death, conquest, and glory.
Only to meet Ghast, the beast from Gqeberha, which engaged in glorious gore without hesitation. It unleashed its aggression in the arena, concussing our ranks with its colossal core of metal and death. Its sonic assault surely signified the onset of our destruction.
Just as all hope seemed lost with the next monstrous mass approaching, its drummer took a cymbal to the head and proceeded to spill his red juice of living. This is when Sunken State decided to take to the stage, affording its companions some time to recover. It absolutely ravaged our ranks, but we had smelled blood and now knew that these giants can bleed too!

Patched up and recovered with its ludicrous healing factor, Your Cynical Sanity was now standing before us – the final titan. Will we be able to endure its ceaseless assault or would we be slaughtered and savoured? Upon opening its monstrous maw, it was clear that this creature was in a class of its own. I suspect that the sub-tropical currents of Durban have caused this specimen to evolve sharper claws, stronger jaws, and movements akin to the quickest carnivores.
It was a massacre and as I stood in the wake of carnage, considering the catastrophic desecration.. I experienced peace and comprehended the profound importance of that which is the Dawn of the Titans.
Dwell in Darkness. Live in Light.
