Helvetestromb – Apocalyptic Fires

Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Helvetestromb have been playing their patented brand of blistering Blackened Thrash Metal since they operated under the pseudonym Skoll over ten years ago.

What began as a sonic collective forged during a drinking binge has become a force to be reckoned with. Their latest album ‘Apocalyptic Fires’ is testament to their mastery over turbulent Blackened Thrash Metal, the type that is a veritable head on collision between the raw Speed Metal of early Destruction and Darkthrone at their most feral.

Featuring Jesper “Desecrator” Tennemo on Bass and lead vocals, Tom “Hellwind” Ahlqvist on guitars and vocals alongside Sebastian “Plaguegrinder” Messa on drums and vocals, this trio conjure forth a veritable furnace of violent blackened Thrash that will scorch your synapses and leave your neurotransmitters reeling!

‘Apocalyptic Fires’ begins with the apoplectic riffs and neck snapping rhythms of opening track ‘Pools Of Prophecy’ which sets the tone for the turbulent sonic tumult that follows.

Over the course of eleven tracks we are enveloped by a barbed tapestry of blistering turbo-charged blackened thrash that barely lets up until its bludgeoning conclusion.

Helvetestromb takes no prisoners in their quest to unleash grisly music of the most malevolent and infectious sort. Witness the chiurning, crust encrusted froth of ‘Return To The Satanic Presence’ and the jarring warpath of ‘Jackhammer’ and be bludgeoned accordingly.

In conclusion,‘Apocalyptic Fires’ is an immaculately pieced together album that goes for the throat with its bloodthirsty vocals, violent riffs, dark atmospherics and devastating double kick battery. Prepare to be pummeled!
